During the fifth year implementation, PT Ciputra Residence has already made Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) program as the cultural roots in all aspects of its development. Besides creating discipline in achieving zero accident and zero loss time injury targets, HSE award is also becoming a prestigious portfolio for contractors and sub-contractors in facing global competition in the future.
Director PT Ciputra Residence Lalitya Ciputra Sastrawinata stated that Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) program initiated by PT Ciputra Residence, which is also the pilot project, has been used as reference in every Ciputra Group’s development project, both in Indonesia and foreign countries.
“The implementation of HSE creates significant impact and benefit for all. Therefore, HSE should also become the cultural roots and applied into our works as well as other activities. PT Ciputra Residence is aware with such issue, one of which is by giving awards to all parties involved in the development of PT Ciputra Residence’s projects,” Lalitya said at the opening ceremony “PT Ciputra Residence HSE Awards 2019” in Ciputra Artpreneur, Ciputra World 1 Jakarta, Wednesday (13/11).
According to her, in line with the theme of PT Ciputra Residence HSE Awards 2019 “Spirit of Continuous Health, Safety, and Environment Improvement for Business Sustainability”, development activities in PT Ciputra Residence do not only emphasize on sustainability aspects, which is based on EcoCulture program that has been initiated since 2011, but also highlight Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture which is measurable in achieving zero accident.
Social Security Administrator (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) recorded that in 2017, the number of work accidents reported reached 123,041 cases, while in 2018 peaked at 173,105 cases with total claims of Work Accident Insurance of Rp 1.2 trillion. These accidents not only causing deaths, material losses, moral, and environmental pollution, but also affect productivity and public welfare.
This year, PT Ciputra Residence conducts Continuous Improvement in high-rise projects as part of commitment in implementing Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). The continuous improvement is expressed through the enhancement of standards governing safety equipment and work tools in high-rise project, as well as knowledge enrichment through additional external trainings on safety aspects in high-rise project.
“There are many things that we can do to reduce the number of work accidents. Ciputra Residence is fully aware of this and hopes that the HSE program that we are promoting will be able to develop awareness within each of our contractor partners to prioritize HSE. Ciputra Residence continues to remind and at the same time to foster this HSE culture to be more deeply rooted in all activities conducted by contractor partners and sub-contractors,” Lalitya explained.
Lalitya informed PT Ciputra Residence HSE Awards 2019 will give appreciation to 76 contractors and sub-contractors. All of them have gone through assessment processes throughout 2018-2019 to become the best. This judgment basis for this year’s awarding is divided into 9 winning categories and one appreciation category.
